Blood Drive

We host 2 blood drives per year. One in October and one in February. This is our way to support the larger Kailua and Waimanalo communities as well as the state. Statistics show that those who donate in high school are more likely to become lifelong donors, and Hawai'i has a generally low blood supply, so having these drives really helps save lives across the islands!

Fun Run

We support the Friends of Kailua Annual Fun Run. This event was created to raise money for the Friends of Kailua, which sponsors various scholarships for Kailua High School students. NHS members are placed throughout the course to help cheer participants on, communicate participants' needs, and supply water.

Commencement

Individual Service Project

Our NHS members assist with the Annual Commencement Ceremony for our graduating seniors.

Each NHS member participates in an independently driven service project. These are driven by each member's passion. They are required to complete a minimum of 10 hours for this project, but many often go well beyond that, finding joy in the service they provide.
